Our Story

Our Story

It was a tale as old as time, true as it can be, a Northshore boy falls for a Southshore girl. Two strangers, separated by the Ted Williams Tunnel, soon developed a love that knew no bounds and no Southeast Expressway could keep apart.

On a random Wednesday night in October, Ryan received a phone call from a friend pleading for him to go out to dinner with him, his sister, and some of her friends. The more Ryan said he wanted to stay in, the harder his friend pleaded for him to come out. "It'll be fun, it'll be worth it, I promise," he said. Begrudgingly, Ryan donned his finest flannel and set out in his truck, guided by the stars to a land of love and romance, Quincy.

Krissie sat on the couch, freshly painted nails, not a hair out of place, a touch of perfume emanating from her skin, and a profound concern for what was about to happen. Slowly, a disheveled young woman descended the stairs, still battling a hangover and said, "Krissie, I'm only doing this for you, if you don't fall in love tonight I'm going to kill you!"

Soon after, the door swung open and in walked Ryan. He looked to his right and there on the couch sat a beautiful blonde with glacial blue eyes that seemed to light up the whole room...he was done for. The two spent the evening laughing and getting to know each other over drinks and dinner with their friends in a place even more romantic than Quincy...a yuppie bar in Dorchester. They could not believe how much they and their families had in common, they could not keep their eyes off one another. Was this truly love at first sight?

As the night drew to a close and Krissie announced her departure, a jolt shot through Ryan, he must come up with something! "Hold on, I need to get my charger out of my truck, I'll walk you out" he exclaimed. Brilliant. After escorting Krissie to her car, Ryan told her that he didn't really need his charger, that he just wanted to talk to her some more. The two continued to talk under stars in the parking lot of Quincy's Louisburg Square Apartments, a far cry from its Beacon Hill namesake, for what seemed to be another hour before finally saying goodnight.

Now, flash forward nearly 6 years, thousands of miles traveled, many adventures had, and a 2 year old Golden Retriever, Ryan and Krissie are asking you to join them as they start their greatest adventure yet. On New Years Eve in the mountains of Vermont, a place near and dear to their hearts, these two will be wed and enter the new year as the new Mr. and Mrs. Ryan Carney. It is our hope that you can be there to join in this joyous celebration and ring in the new year!
